The rod shebet (shay'-bet) a scion, i.e. (literally) a stick (for punishing, writing, fighting, ruling, walking, etc.) or (figuratively) a clan -- correction, dart, rod, sceptre, staff, tribe. and reproof towkechah (to-kay-khaw') chastisement; figuratively (by words) correction, refutation, proof (even in defence) -- argument, chastened, correction, reasoning, rebuke, reproof, be (often) reproved. give nathan (naw-than') to give, used with greatest latitude of application (put, make, etc.) wisdom chokmah (khok-maw') wisdom (in a good sense) -- skilful, wisdom, wisely, wit. but a child na`ar (nah'-ar) babe, boy, child, damsel (from the margin), lad, servant, young (man). left shalach (shaw-lakh') to send away, for, or out (in a great variety of applications) to himself bringeth his mother 'em (ame) a mother (as the bond of the family); in a wide sense (both literally and figuratively) -- dam, mother, parting. to shame buwsh (boosh) to pale, i.e. by implication to be ashamed; also (by implication) to be disappointed or delayed |
