Then ye shall sacrifice `asah (aw-saw') to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application one 'echad (ekh-awd') united, i.e. one; or (as an ordinal) first kid sa`iyr (saw-eer') shaggy; as noun, a he-goat; by analogy, a faun -- devil, goat, hairy, kid, rough, satyr. of the goats `ez (aze) a she-goat (as strong), but masculine in plural (which also is used ellipt. for goat's hair) -- (she) goat, kid. for a sin offering chatta'ah (khat-taw-aw') an offence (sometimes habitual sinfulness), and its penalty, occasion, sacrifice, or expiation; also (concretely) an offender and two shnayim (shen-ah'-yim) two; also (as ordinal) twofold -- both, couple, double, second, twain, + twelfth, + twelve, + twenty (sixscore) thousand, twice, two. lambs kebes (keh-bes') a ram (just old enough to butt) -- lamb, sheep. of the first ben (bane) a son (as a builder of the family name), in the widest sense (of literal and figurative relationship, including grandson, subject, nation, quality or condition, etc. year shaneh (shaw-neh') a year (as a revolution of time) -- + whole age, long, + old, year(-ly). for a sacrifice zebach (zeh'-bakh) a slaughter, i.e. the flesh of an animal; by implication, a sacrifice (the victim or the act) -- offer(-ing), sacrifice. of peace offerings shelem (sheh'-lem) requital, i.e. a (voluntary) sacrifice in thanks -- peace offering. |
