For whosoever shall commit `asah (aw-saw') to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application any of these abominations tow`ebah (to-ay-baw') something disgusting (morally), i.e. (as noun) an abhorrence; especially idolatry or (concretely) an idol -- abominable (custom, thing), abomination. even the souls nephesh (neh'-fesh) a breathing creature, i.e. animal of (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental) that commit `asah (aw-saw') to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application them shall be cut off karath (kaw-rath') to cut (off, down or asunder); by implication, to destroy or consume; specifically, to covenant from among qereb (keh'-reb) the nearest part, i.e. the center, whether literal, figurative or adverbial (especially with preposition) their people `am (am) a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel); hence (collectively) troops or attendants; figuratively, a flock -- folk, men, nation, people. |
