And these are they which ye shall have in abomination shaqats (shaw-kats') to be filthy, i.e. (intensively) to loathe, pollute -- abhor, make abominable, have in abomination, detest, utterly. among min (min) above, after, among, at, because of, by (reason of), from (among), in, neither, nor, (out) of, over, since, then, through, whether, with. the fowls `owph (ofe) a bird (as covered with feathers, or rather as covering with wings), often collectively -- bird, that flieth, flying, fowl. they shall not be eaten 'akal (aw-kal') to eat -- at all, burn up, consume, devour(-er, up), dine, eat(-er, up), feed (with), food, freely, in...wise(-deed, plenty), (lay) meat, quite. they are an abomination sheqets (sheh'-kets) filth, i.e. (figuratively and specifically) an idolatrous object -- abominable(-tion). the eagle nesher (neh'-sher) the eagle (or other large bird of prey) -- eagle. and the ossifrage perec (peh'-res) a claw; also a kind of eagle -- claw, ossifrage. and the ospray `ozniyah (oz-nee-yaw') probably the sea-eagle (from its strength) -- ospray. |
