And the priest kohen (ko-hane') literally, one officiating, a priest; also (by courtesy) an acting priest (although a layman) -- chief ruler, own, priest, prince, principal officer. shall bring qarab (kaw-rab') to approach (causatively, bring near) for whatever purpose it unto the altar mizbeach (miz-bay'-akh) an altar -- altar. and wring off malaq (maw-lak') to crack a joint; by implication, to wring the neck of a fowl (without separating it) -- wring off. his head ro'sh (roshe) the head (as most easily shaken), whether literal or figurative (in many applications, of place, time, rank, itc.) and burn qatar (kaw-tar') to smoke, i.e. turn into fragrance by fire (especially as an act of worship) -- burn (incense, sacrifice) (upon), (altar for) incense, kindle, offer (incense, a sacrifice). it on the altar mizbeach (miz-bay'-akh) an altar -- altar. and the blood dam (dawm) blood (as that which when shed causes death) of man or an animal; by analogy, the juice of the grape; figuratively (especially in the plural) bloodshed (i.e. drops of blood) thereof shall be wrung out matsah (maw-tsaw') to suck out; by implication, to drain, to squeeze out -- suck, wring (out). at the side qiyr (keer) a wall (as built in a trench) -- + mason, side, town, very, wall. of the altar mizbeach (miz-bay'-akh) an altar -- altar. |
