The LORD Yhovah (yeh-ho-vaw') (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God -- Jehovah, the Lord. hath purposed chashab (khaw-shab') to plait or interpenetrate, i.e. (literally) to weave or (gen.) to fabricate; figuratively, to plot or contrive (usually in a malicious sense); hence (from the mental effort) to think, regard, value, compute to destroy shachath (shaw-khath') to decay, i.e. (causatively) ruin -- batter, cast off, corrupt(-er, thing), destroy(-er, -uction), lose, mar, perish, spill, spoiler, utterly, waste(-r). the wall chowmah (kho-maw') a wall of protection -- wall, walled. of the daughter bath (bath) apple (of the eye), branch, company, daughter, first, old, owl, town, village. of Zion Tsiyown (tsee-yone') Tsijon (as a permanent capital), a mountain of Jerusalem -- Zion. he hath stretched out natah (naw-taw') to stretch or spread out; by implication, to bend away (including moral deflection); used in a great variety of application (out), stretch (forth, out), take (aside), turn (aside, away), wrest, cause to yield. a line qav (kav) a cord (as connecting), especially for measuring; figuratively, a rule; also a rim, a musical string or accord -- line. he hath not withdrawn shuwb (shoob) to turn back (hence, away) transitively or intransitively, literally or figuratively his hand yad (yawd) a hand (the open one (indicating power, means, direction, etc.), from destroying bala` (baw-lah') to make away with (specifically by swallowing); generally, to destroy -- cover, destroy, devour, eat up, be at end, spend up, swallow down (up). therefore he made the rampart cheyl (khale) an army; also (by analogy,) an intrenchment -- army, bulwark, host, poor, rampart, trench, wall. and the wall chowmah (kho-maw') a wall of protection -- wall, walled. to lament 'abal (aw-bal') to bewail -- lament, mourn. they languished 'amal (aw-mal') to droop; by implication to be sick, to mourn -- languish, be weak, wax feeble. together yachad (yakh'-ad) a unit, i.e. (adverb) unitedly -- alike, at all (once), both, likewise, only, (al-)together, withal. |
