The Lord 'Adonay (ad-o-noy') the Lord (used as a proper name of God only) -- (my) Lord. was as an enemy 'oyeb (o-yabe') hating; an adversary -- enemy, foe. he hath swallowed up bala` (baw-lah') to make away with (specifically by swallowing); generally, to destroy -- cover, destroy, devour, eat up, be at end, spend up, swallow down (up). Israel Yisra'el (yis-raw-ale') he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity: --Israel. he hath swallowed up bala` (baw-lah') to make away with (specifically by swallowing); generally, to destroy -- cover, destroy, devour, eat up, be at end, spend up, swallow down (up). all her palaces 'armown (ar-mone') a citadel (from its height) -- castle, palace. he hath destroyed shachath (shaw-khath') to decay, i.e. (causatively) ruin -- batter, cast off, corrupt(-er, thing), destroy(-er, -uction), lose, mar, perish, spill, spoiler, utterly, waste(-r). his strong holds mibtsar (mib-tsawr') a fortification, castle, or fortified city; figuratively, a defender -- (de-, most) fenced, fortress, (most) strong (hold). and hath increased rabah (raw-baw') to increase (in whatever respect) in the daughter bath (bath) apple (of the eye), branch, company, daughter, first, old, owl, town, village. of Judah Yhuwdah (yeh-hoo-daw') celebrated; Jehudah (or Judah), the name of five Israelites; also of the tribe descended from the first, and of its territory -- Judah. mourning ta'aniyah (tah-an-ee-yaw') lamentation -- heaviness, mourning. and lamentation 'aniyah (an-ee-yaw') groaning -- lamentation, sorrow. |
