He hath cut off gada` (gaw-dah') to fell a tree; generally, to destroy anything -- cut (asunder, in sunder, down, off), hew down. in his fierce choriy (khor-ee') a burning (i.e. intense) anger -- fierce, great, heat. anger 'aph (af) the nose or nostril; hence, the face, and occasionally a person; also (from the rapid breathing in passion) ire all the horn qeren (keh'-ren) a horn (as projecting); by implication, a flask, cornet; by resembl. an elephant's tooth (i.e. ivory), a corner (of the altar), a peak (of a mountain), a ray (of light); figuratively, power -- hill, horn. of Israel Yisra'el (yis-raw-ale') he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity: --Israel. he hath drawn shuwb (shoob) to turn back (hence, away) transitively or intransitively, literally or figuratively back 'achowr (aw-khore') the hinder part; hence (adverb) behind, backward; also (as facing north) the West -- after(-ward), back (part, -side, -ward), hereafter, (be-)hind(-er part), time to come, without. his right hand yamiyn (yaw-meen') the right hand or side (leg, eye) of a person or other object (as the stronger and more dexterous); locally, the south -- + left-handed, right (hand, side), south. from before paniym (paw-neem') the face (as the part that turns); used in a great variety of applications (literally and figuratively); also (with prepositional prefix) as a preposition (before, etc.) the enemy 'oyeb (o-yabe') hating; an adversary -- enemy, foe. and he burned ba`ar (baw-ar') to kindle, i.e. consume (by fire or by eating); also to be(-come) brutish against Jacob Ya`aqob (yah-ak-obe') heel-catcher (i.e. supplanter); Jaakob, the Israelitish patriarch -- Jacob. like a flaming lehabah (leh-aw-baw') flame(-ming), head (of a spear). fire 'esh (aysh) fire -- burning, fiery, fire, flaming, hot. which devoureth 'akal (aw-kal') to eat -- at all, burn up, consume, devour(-er, up), dine, eat(-er, up), feed (with), food, freely, in...wise(-deed, plenty), (lay) meat, quite. round about cabiyb (saw-beeb') (as noun) a circle, neighbour, or environs; but chiefly (as adverb, with or without preposition) around -- (place, round) about, circuit, compass, on every side. |
