The Lord 'Adonay (ad-o-noy') the Lord (used as a proper name of God only) -- (my) Lord. hath swallowed up bala` (baw-lah') to make away with (specifically by swallowing); generally, to destroy -- cover, destroy, devour, eat up, be at end, spend up, swallow down (up). all the habitations na'ah (naw-aw') a home; figuratively, a pasture -- habitation, house, pasture, pleasant place. of Jacob Ya`aqob (yah-ak-obe') heel-catcher (i.e. supplanter); Jaakob, the Israelitish patriarch -- Jacob. and hath not pitied chamal (khaw-mal') to commiserate; by implication, to spare -- have compassion, (have) pity, spare. he hath thrown down harac (haw-ras') to pull down or in pieces, break, &? destroy -- beat down, break (down, through), destroy, overthrow, pluck down, pull down, ruin, throw down, utterly. in his wrath `ebrah (eb-raw') an outburst of passion -- anger, rage, wrath. the strong holds mibtsar (mib-tsawr') a fortification, castle, or fortified city; figuratively, a defender -- (de-, most) fenced, fortress, (most) strong (hold). of the daughter bath (bath) apple (of the eye), branch, company, daughter, first, old, owl, town, village. of Judah Yhuwdah (yeh-hoo-daw') celebrated; Jehudah (or Judah), the name of five Israelites; also of the tribe descended from the first, and of its territory -- Judah. he hath brought them down naga` (naw-gah') beat, (be able to) bring (down), cast, come (nigh), draw near (nigh), get up, happen, join, near, plague, reach (up), smite, strike, touch. to the ground 'erets (eh'-rets) the earth (at large, or partitively a land) -- common, country, earth, field, ground, land, natins, way, + wilderness, world. he hath polluted chalal (khaw-lal') to bore, i.e. (by implication) to wound, to dissolve; figuratively, to profane (a person, place or thing), to break (one's word), to begin (as if by an opening wedge) instruments, pollute, (cast as) profane (self), prostitute, slay (slain), sorrow, stain, wound. the kingdom mamlakah (mam-law-kaw') dominion, i.e. (abstractly) the estate (rule) or (concretely) the country (realm) -- kingdom, king's, reign, royal. and the princes sar (sar) a head person (of any rank or class) -- captain (that had rule), chief (captain), general, governor, keeper, lord, (-task-)master, prince(-ipal), ruler, steward. thereof |
