The elders zaqen (zaw-kane') old -- aged, ancient (man), elder(-est), old (man, men and...women), senator. of the daughter bath (bath) apple (of the eye), branch, company, daughter, first, old, owl, town, village. of Zion Tsiyown (tsee-yone') Tsijon (as a permanent capital), a mountain of Jerusalem -- Zion. sit yashab (yaw-shab') to sit down (specifically as judge. in ambush, in quiet); by implication, to dwell, to remain; causatively, to settle, to marry upon the ground 'erets (eh'-rets) the earth (at large, or partitively a land) -- common, country, earth, field, ground, land, natins, way, + wilderness, world. and keep silence damam (daw-man') to be dumb; by implication, to be astonished, to stop; also to perish they have cast up `alah (aw-law') to ascend, intransitively (be high) or actively (mount); used in a great variety of senses, primary and secondary, literal and figurative (as follow) dust `aphar (aw-fawr') dust (as powdered or gray); hence, clay, earth, mud -- ashes, dust, earth, ground, morter, powder, rubbish. upon their heads ro'sh (roshe) the head (as most easily shaken), whether literal or figurative (in many applications, of place, time, rank, itc.) they have girded chagar (khaw-gar') to gird on (as a belt, armor, etc.) -- be able to put on, be afraid, appointed, gird, restrain, on every side. themselves with sackcloth saq (sak) a mesh (as allowing a liquid to run through), i.e. coarse loose cloth or sacking (used in mourning and for bagging); hence, a bag (for grain, etc.) -- sack(-cloth, -clothes). the virgins bthuwlah (beth-oo-law') a virgin (from her privacy); sometimes (by continuation) a bride; also (figuratively) a city or state -- maid, virgin. of Jerusalem Yruwshalaim (yer-oo-shaw-lah'-im) founded peaceful; Jerushalaim or Jerushalem, the capital city of Palestine -- Jerusalem. hang down yarad (yaw-rad') to descend; causatively, to bring down (in all the above applications) their heads ro'sh (roshe) the head (as most easily shaken), whether literal or figurative (in many applications, of place, time, rank, itc.) to the ground 'erets (eh'-rets) the earth (at large, or partitively a land) -- common, country, earth, field, ground, land, natins, way, + wilderness, world. |
