Southward negeb (neh'-gheb) the south (from its drought); specifically, the Negeb or southern district of Judah, occasionally, Egypt (as south to Palestine) -- south (country, side, -ward). it was Ephraim's 'Ephrayim (ef-rah'-yim) double fruit; Ephrajim, a son of Joseph; also the tribe descended from him, and its territory -- Ephraim, Ephraimites. and northward tsaphown (tsaw-fone') hidden, i.e. dark; used only of the north as a quarter (gloomy and unknown) -- north(-ern, side, -ward, wind). it was Manasseh's Mnashsheh (men-ash-sheh') causing to forget; Menashsheh, a grandson of Jacob, also the tribe descended from him, and its territory -- Manasseh. and the sea yam (yawm) from an unused root meaning to roar -- sea (-faring man, (-shore), south, west (-ern, side, -ward). is his border gbuwl (gheb-ool') a cord (as twisted), i.e. (by implication) a boundary; by extens. the territory inclosed -- border, bound, coast, great, landmark, limit, quarter, space. and they met together paga` (paw-gah') to impinge, by accident or violence, or (figuratively) by importunity in Asher 'Asher (aw-share') Asher, a son of Jacob, and the tribe descended from him, with its territory; also a place in Palestine -- Asher on the north tsaphown (tsaw-fone') hidden, i.e. dark; used only of the north as a quarter (gloomy and unknown) -- north(-ern, side, -ward, wind). and in Issachar Yissaskar (yis-saw-kawr') he will bring a reward; Jissaskar, a son of Jacob -- Issachar. on the east mizrach (miz-rawkh') sunrise, i.e. the east -- east (side, -ward), (sun-)rising (of the sun). |
