For I have sworn shaba` (shaw-bah') propr. to be complete; to seven oneself, i.e. swear (as if by repeating a declaration seven times) by myself saith n'um (neh-oom') an oracle -- (hath) said, saith. the LORD Yhovah (yeh-ho-vaw') (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God -- Jehovah, the Lord. that Bozrah Botsrah (bots-raw') Botsrah, a place in Edom -- Bozrah. shall become a desolation shammah (sham-maw') ruin; by implication, consternation -- astonishment, desolate(-ion), waste, wonderful thing. a reproach cherpah (kher-paw') contumely, disgrace, the pudenda -- rebuke, reproach(-fully), shame. a waste choreb (kho'-reb) drought or desolation -- desolation, drought, dry, heat, utterly, waste. and a curse qlalah (kel-aw-law') vilification -- (ac-)curse(-d, -ing). and all the cities `iyr (eer) or (in the plural) par {awr}; or ayar (Judges 10:4) {aw-yar'}; a city (a place guarded by waking or a watch) in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post) -- Ai (from margin), city, court (from margin), town. thereof shall be perpetual `owlam (o-lawm') concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future), i.e. (practically) eternity; frequentatively, adverbial (especially with prepositional prefix) always wastes chorbah (khor-baw') drought, i.e. (by implication) a desolation -- decayed place, desolate (place, -tion), destruction, (laid) waste (place). |
