Then spake 'amar (aw-mar') to say (used with great latitude) the priests kohen (ko-hane') literally, one officiating, a priest; also (by courtesy) an acting priest (although a layman) -- chief ruler, own, priest, prince, principal officer. and the prophets nabiy' (naw-bee') a prophet or (generally) inspired man -- prophecy, that prophesy, prophet. unto the princes sar (sar) a head person (of any rank or class) -- captain (that had rule), chief (captain), general, governor, keeper, lord, (-task-)master, prince(-ipal), ruler, steward. and to all the people `am (am) a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel); hence (collectively) troops or attendants; figuratively, a flock -- folk, men, nation, people. saying 'amar (aw-mar') to say (used with great latitude) This man 'iysh (eesh) a man as an individual or a male person; often used as an adjunct to a more definite term (and in such cases frequently not expressed in translation) is worthy mishpat (mish-pawt') a verdict (favorable or unfavorable) pronounced judicially, especially a sentence or formal decree (human or (participant's) divine law, individual or collective to die maveth (maw'-veth) death (natural or violent); concretely, the dead, their place or state (hades); figuratively, pestilence, ruin -- (be) dead(-ly), death, die(-d). for he hath prophesied naba' (naw-baw') to prophesy, i.e. speak (or sing) by inspiration (in prediction or simple discourse) -- prophesy(-ing), make self a prophet. against this city `iyr (eer) or (in the plural) par {awr}; or ayar (Judges 10:4) {aw-yar'}; a city (a place guarded by waking or a watch) in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post) -- Ai (from margin), city, court (from margin), town. as ye have heard shama` (shaw-mah') to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively, to tell, etc.) with your ears 'ozen (o'-zen) broadness. i.e. (concrete) the ear (from its form in man) -- + advertise, audience, + displease, ear, hearing, + show. |
