If I go forth yatsa' (yaw-tsaw') to go (causatively, bring) out, in a great variety of applications, literally and figuratively, direct and proxim. into the field sadeh (saw-deh') from an unused root meaning to spread out; a field (as flat) -- country, field, ground, land, soil, wild. then behold the slain chalal (khaw-lawl') pierced (especially to death); figuratively, polluted -- kill, profane, slain (man), slew, (deadly) wounded. with the sword chereb (kheh'-reb) drought; also a cutting instrument (from its destructive effect), as a knife, sword, or other sharp implement -- axe, dagger, knife, mattock, sword, tool. and if I enter bow' (bo) to go or come (in a wide variety of applications) into the city `iyr (eer) or (in the plural) par {awr}; or ayar (Judges 10:4) {aw-yar'}; a city (a place guarded by waking or a watch) in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post) -- Ai (from margin), city, court (from margin), town. then behold them that are sick tachaluw' (takh-al-oo') a malady -- disease, grievous, (that are) sick(-ness). with famine ra`ab (raw-awb') hunger (more or less extensive) -- dearth, famine, + famished, hunger. yea both the prophet nabiy' (naw-bee') a prophet or (generally) inspired man -- prophecy, that prophesy, prophet. and the priest kohen (ko-hane') literally, one officiating, a priest; also (by courtesy) an acting priest (although a layman) -- chief ruler, own, priest, prince, principal officer. go about cachar (saw-khar') to travel round (specifically as a pedlar); intensively, to palpitate -- go about, merchant(-man), occupy with, pant, trade, traffick. into a land 'erets (eh'-rets) the earth (at large, or partitively a land) -- common, country, earth, field, ground, land, natins, way, + wilderness, world. that they know yada` (yaw-dah') to know (properly, to ascertain by seeing); used in a great variety of senses, figuratively, literally, euphemistically and inferentially not |
