When they fast tsuwm (tsoom) to cover over (the mouth), i.e. to fast -- at all, fast. I will not hear shama` (shaw-mah') to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively, to tell, etc.) their cry rinnah (rin-naw') a creaking (or shrill sound), i.e. shout (of joy or grief) -- cry, gladness, joy, proclamation, rejoicing, shouting, sing(-ing), triumph. and when they offer `alah (aw-law') to ascend, intransitively (be high) or actively (mount); used in a great variety of senses, primary and secondary, literal and figurative (as follow) burnt offering `olah (o-law') a step or (collectively, stairs, as ascending); usually a holocaust (as going up in smoke) -- ascent, burnt offering (sacrifice), go up to. and an oblation minchah (min-khaw') a donation; euphemistically, tribute; specifically a sacrificial offering (usually bloodless and voluntary) -- gift, oblation, (meat) offering, present, sacrifice.
