Therefore thy gates sha`ar (shah'-ar) an opening, i.e. door or gate -- city, door, gate, port (-er). shall be open pathach (paw-thakh') to open wide; specifically, to loosen, begin, plough, carve continually tamiyd (taw-meed') continuance (as indefinite extension); but used only (attributively as adjective) constant (or adverbially, constantly); ellipt. the regular (daily) sacrifice they shall not be shut cagar (saw-gar') to shut up; figuratively, to surrender -- close up, deliver (up), give over (up), inclose, pure, repair, shut (in, self, out, up, up together), stop, straitly. day yowmam (yo-mawm') daily -- daily, (by, in the) day(-time). nor night layil (lah'-yil) a twist (away of the light), i.e. night; figuratively, adversity -- (mid-)night (season). that men may bring bow' (bo) to go or come (in a wide variety of applications) unto thee the forces chayil (khah'-yil) probably a force, whether of men, means or other resources; an army, wealth, virtue, valor, strength of the Gentiles gowy (go'-ee) a foreign nation; hence, a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts -- Gentile, heathen, nation, people. and that their kings melek (meh'-lek) a king -- king, royal. may be brought nahag (naw-hag') to drive forth (a person, an animal or chariot), i.e. lead, carry away; reflexively, to proceed (i.e. impel or guide oneself); also (from the panting induced by effort), to sigh |
