And thou shalt take laqach (law-kakh') to take (in the widest variety of applications) of the blood dam (dawm) blood (as that which when shed causes death) of man or an animal; by analogy, the juice of the grape; figuratively (especially in the plural) bloodshed (i.e. drops of blood) thereof and put nathan (naw-than') to give, used with greatest latitude of application (put, make, etc.) it on the four 'arba` (ar-bah') four -- four. horns qeren (keh'-ren) a horn (as projecting); by implication, a flask, cornet; by resembl. an elephant's tooth (i.e. ivory), a corner (of the altar), a peak (of a mountain), a ray (of light); figuratively, power -- hill, horn. of it and on the four 'arba` (ar-bah') four -- four. corners pinnah (pin-naw') an angle; by implication, a pinnacle; figuratively, a chieftain -- bulwark, chief, corner, stay, tower. of the settle `azarah (az-aw-raw') an inclosure; also a border -- court, settle. and upon the border gbuwl (gheb-ool') a cord (as twisted), i.e. (by implication) a boundary; by extens. the territory inclosed -- border, bound, coast, great, landmark, limit, quarter, space. round about cabiyb (saw-beeb') (as noun) a circle, neighbour, or environs; but chiefly (as adverb, with or without preposition) around -- (place, round) about, circuit, compass, on every side. thus shalt thou cleanse chata' (khaw-taw') to miss; hence (figuratively and generally) to sin; by inference, to forfeit, lack, expiate, repent, (causatively) lead astray, condemn and purge kaphar (kaw-far') to cover (specifically with bitumen); figuratively, to expiate or condone, to placate or cance it |
