There is Edom 'Edom (ed-ome') red (see Gen. 25:25); Edom, the elder twin-brother of Jacob; hence the region (Idumaea) occupied by him -- Edom, Edomites, Idumea. her kings melek (meh'-lek) a king -- king, royal. and all her princes nasiy' (naw-see') an exalted one, i.e. a king or sheik; also a rising mist -- captain, chief, cloud, governor, prince, ruler, vapour. which with their might gbuwrah (gheb-oo-raw') force; by implication, valor, victory -- force, mastery, might, mighty (act, power), power, strength. are laid nathan (naw-than') to give, used with greatest latitude of application (put, make, etc.) by them that were slain chalal (khaw-lawl') pierced (especially to death); figuratively, polluted -- kill, profane, slain (man), slew, (deadly) wounded. by the sword chereb (kheh'-reb) drought; also a cutting instrument (from its destructive effect), as a knife, sword, or other sharp implement -- axe, dagger, knife, mattock, sword, tool. they shall lie shakab (shaw-kab') to lie down (for rest, sexual connection, decease or any other purpose) with the uncircumcised `arel (aw-rale') exposed, i.e. projecting loose (as to the prepuce); used only technically, uncircumcised (i.e. still having the prepuce uncurtailed) -- uncircumcised (person). and with them that go down yarad (yaw-rad') to descend; causatively, to bring down (in all the above applications) to the pit bowr (bore) a pit hole (especially one used as a cistern or a prison) -- cistern, dungeon, fountain, pit, well. |
