And he was king melek (meh'-lek) a king -- king, royal. in Jeshurun Yshuruwn (yesh-oo-roon') upright; Jeshurun, a symbol. name for Israel -- Jeshurun. when the heads ro'sh (roshe) the head (as most easily shaken), whether literal or figurative (in many applications, of place, time, rank, itc.) of the people `am (am) a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel); hence (collectively) troops or attendants; figuratively, a flock -- folk, men, nation, people. and the tribes shebet (shay'-bet) a scion, i.e. (literally) a stick (for punishing, writing, fighting, ruling, walking, etc.) or (figuratively) a clan -- correction, dart, rod, sceptre, staff, tribe. of Israel Yisra'el (yis-raw-ale') he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity: --Israel. were gathered 'acaph (aw-saf') to gather for any purpose; hence, to receive, take away, i.e. remove together yachad (yakh'-ad) a unit, i.e. (adverb) unitedly -- alike, at all (once), both, likewise, only, (al-)together, withal. |
