And we took laqach (law-kakh') to take (in the widest variety of applications) their land 'erets (eh'-rets) the earth (at large, or partitively a land) -- common, country, earth, field, ground, land, natins, way, + wilderness, world. and gave nathan (naw-than') to give, used with greatest latitude of application (put, make, etc.) it for an inheritance nachalah (nakh-al-aw') something inherited, i.e. (abstractly) occupancy, or (concretely) an heirloom; generally an estate, patrimony or portion -- heritage, to inherit, inheritance, possession. unto the Reubenites R'uwbeniy (reh-oob-ay-nee') a Reubenite or descendant of Reuben -- children of Reuben, Reubenites. and to the Gadites Gadiy (gaw-dee') a Gadite (collectively) or descendants of Gad -- Gadites, children of Gad. and to the half chetsiy (khay-tsee') the half or middle -- half, middle, mid(-night), midst, part, two parts. tribe shebet (shay'-bet) a scion, i.e. (literally) a stick (for punishing, writing, fighting, ruling, walking, etc.) or (figuratively) a clan -- correction, dart, rod, sceptre, staff, tribe. of Manasseh Mnashshiy (men-ash-shee') a Menashshite or descendant of Menashsheh -- of Manasseh, Manassites. |
