These shall stand `amad (aw-mad') to stand, in various relations (literal and figurative, intransitive and transitive) upon mount har (har) a mountain or range of hills (sometimes used figuratively) -- hill (country), mount(-ain), promotion. Gerizim Griziym (gher-ee-zeem') Gerizim, a mountain of Palestine -- Gerizim. to bless barak (baw-rak') to kneel; by implication to bless God (as an act of adoration), and (vice-versa) man (as a benefit); also (by euphemism) to curse (God or the king, as treason) the people `am (am) a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel); hence (collectively) troops or attendants; figuratively, a flock -- folk, men, nation, people. when ye are come over `abar (aw-bar') to cross over; used very widely of any transition (literal or figurative; transitive, intransitive, intensive, causative); specifically, to cover (in copulation) Jordan Yarden (yar-dane') a descender; Jarden, the principal river of Palestine -- Jordan. Simeon Shim`own (shim-one') hearing; Shimon, one of Jacob's sons, also the tribe descended from him -- Simeon. and Levi Leviy (lay-vee') attached; Levi, a son of Jacob -- Levi. and Judah Yhuwdah (yeh-hoo-daw') celebrated; Jehudah (or Judah), the name of five Israelites; also of the tribe descended from the first, and of its territory -- Judah. and Issachar Yissaskar (yis-saw-kawr') he will bring a reward; Jissaskar, a son of Jacob -- Issachar. and Joseph Yowceph (yo-safe') let him add (or perhaps simply active participle adding); Joseph, the name of seven Israelites -- Joseph. and Benjamin Binyamiyn (bin-yaw-mene') son of (the) right hand; Binjamin, youngest son of Jacob; also the tribe descended from him, and its territory -- Benjamin. |
