And the LORD Yhovah (yeh-ho-vaw') (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God -- Jehovah, the Lord. hath avouched 'amar (aw-mar') to say (used with great latitude) thee this day yowm (yome) a day (as the warm hours), to be his peculiar cgullah (seg-ool-law') wealth (as closely shut up) -- jewel, peculiar (treasure), proper good, special. people `am (am) a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel); hence (collectively) troops or attendants; figuratively, a flock -- folk, men, nation, people. as he hath promised dabar (daw-bar') perhaps properly, to arrange; but used figuratively (of words), to speak; rarely (in a destructive sense) to subdue thee and that thou shouldest keep shamar (shaw-mar') to hedge about (as with thorns), i.e. guard; generally, to protect, attend to, etc. all his commandments mitsvah (mits-vaw') a command, whether human or divine (collectively, the Law) -- (which was) commanded(-ment), law, ordinance, precept. |
