And all the elders zaqen (zaw-kane') old -- aged, ancient (man), elder(-est), old (man, men and...women), senator. of that city `iyr (eer) or (in the plural) par {awr}; or ayar (Judges 10:4) {aw-yar'}; a city (a place guarded by waking or a watch) in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post) -- Ai (from margin), city, court (from margin), town. that are next qarowb (kaw-robe') near (in place, kindred or time) unto the slain chalal (khaw-lawl') pierced (especially to death); figuratively, polluted -- kill, profane, slain (man), slew, (deadly) wounded. man shall wash rachats (raw-khats') to lave (the whole or a part of a thing) -- bathe (self), wash (self). their hands yad (yawd) a hand (the open one (indicating power, means, direction, etc.), over the heifer `eglah (eg-law') a (female) calf, especially one nearly grown (i.e. a heifer) -- calf, cow, heifer. that is beheaded `araph (aw-raf') that is beheaded, break down, break (cut off, strike off) neck. in the valley nachal (nakh'-al) a stream, especially a winter torrent; (by implication) a (narrow) valley (in which a brook runs); also a shaft (of a mine) -- brook, flood, river, stream, valley. |
