And it shall be that the city `iyr (eer) or (in the plural) par {awr}; or ayar (Judges 10:4) {aw-yar'}; a city (a place guarded by waking or a watch) in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post) -- Ai (from margin), city, court (from margin), town. which is next qarowb (kaw-robe') near (in place, kindred or time) unto the slain man chalal (khaw-lawl') pierced (especially to death); figuratively, polluted -- kill, profane, slain (man), slew, (deadly) wounded. even the elders zaqen (zaw-kane') old -- aged, ancient (man), elder(-est), old (man, men and...women), senator. of that city `iyr (eer) or (in the plural) par {awr}; or ayar (Judges 10:4) {aw-yar'}; a city (a place guarded by waking or a watch) in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post) -- Ai (from margin), city, court (from margin), town. shall take laqach (law-kakh') to take (in the widest variety of applications) an heifer baqar (baw-kawr') beef cattle or an animal of the ox family of either gender (as used for plowing); collectively, a herd -- beeve, bull (+ -ock), + calf, + cow, great (cattle), + heifer, herd, kine, ox. `eglah (eg-law') a (female) calf, especially one nearly grown (i.e. a heifer) -- calf, cow, heifer. which hath not been wrought with `abad (aw-bad') to work (in any sense); by implication, to serve, till, (causatively) enslave, etc. and which hath not drawn mashak (maw-shak') to draw, used in a great variety of applications (including to sow, to sound, to prolong, to develop, to march, to remove, to delay, to be tall, etc.) in the yoke `ol (ole) a yoke (as imposed on the neck), literally or figuratively -- yoke. |
