All these were of costly yaqar (yaw-kawr') valuable (obj. or subj.) -- brightness, clear, costly, excellent, fat, honourable women, precious, reputation. stones 'eben (eh'-ben) a stone -- + carbuncle, + mason, + plummet, (chalk-, hail-, head-, sling-)stone(-ny), (divers) weight(-s). according to the measures middah (mid-daw') extension, i.e. height or breadth; also a measure (including its standard); hence a portion (as measured) or a vestment; specifically, tribute (as measured) of hewed stones gaziyth (gaw-zeeth') something cut, i.e. dressed stone -- hewed, hewn stone, wrought. sawed garar (gaw-rar') to drag off roughly; by implication, to bring up the cud (i.e. ruminate); by analogy, to saw -- catch, chew, continuing, destroy, saw. with saws mgerah (meg-ay-raw') a saw -- axe, saw. within bayith (bah'-yith) a house (in the greatest variation of applications, especially family, etc.) and without chuwts (khoots) abroad, field, forth, highway, more, out(-side, -ward), street, without. even from the foundation maccad (mas-sad') a foundation -- foundation. unto the coping tephach (tay'-fakh) a spread of the hand, i.e. a palm-breadth (not span of the fingers); architecturally, a corbel (as a supporting palm) -- coping, hand-breadth. and so on the outside chuwts (khoots) abroad, field, forth, highway, more, out(-side, -ward), street, without. toward the great gadowl (gaw-dole') great (in any sense); hence, older; also insolent court chatser (khaw-tsare') a yard (as inclosed by a fence); also a hamlet (as similarly surrounded with walls) -- court, tower, village. |
